We’re a welcoming, Bible-centered church where people of all ages and backgrounds can grow in their faith, worship together, and build lasting friendships.
What Bible translation does HBC use?
While you are welcome to use whatever translation you prefer, the reading and preaching you’ll hear from the pulpit will be from the English Standard Version (ESV).
What kind of music will I hear at HBC?
We sing a mix of ancient, classic, and modern music—all in a traditional style, and we use a hymnal called Rejoice Hymns.
What do people wear at HBC?
You will see a wide range of styles at our
church—from jeans to suits and everything in between. We care much more about you than about what you’re wearing.
How long is a Sunday service?
Our services usually run from 60 to 75 minutes.
Meet our Pastor
Pastor Ben Vahle leads our church with a heart for people and a love for God’s truth. He is dedicated to helping people understand and shape their lives around the Bible, grow in their relationships with Jesus and His church, and find joy in serving Him.
Pastor Ben graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing in 2001, from Bob Jones University Seminary with a Master of Arts in Youth Ministries in 2008, and from Maranatha Baptist Seminary with a Master of Arts in Bible in 2025. He became Associate Pastor at HBC in 2015 and Senior Pastor in 2020. He and his incomparable wife Becky have children ages 18, 16, and 13.
